Club taking applications for booths
      A Town and Country Christmas Bazaar is set Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lampasas County Courthouse. Vendors are sought. Cost is $20 for for-profit organizations, $15 for non-profits and $25 for concessions. Vendors should furnish their own tables, chairs and extension cords.

Family Medicine Clinic to open Cove facility
      Family Medicine Clinic in Copperas Cove will open its new clinic at 2401 Walker Place at its grand opening on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. "The new location will promote a professional, family-style medical environment with easy patient access and increased visibility from U.S. Highway 190," said Ruben Cardenas, FMC senior administrator.

      Less than 1 percent of the Fortune 500 CEOs and only 7 percent of federal elected officials are female. Though there is a great need for more female leadership in the U.S., only 21 percent of girls believe they have most of the qualities required to be a good leader, according to the Girl Scout Research Institute.

High fuel costs affecting volunteer drivers for ACS
      Every day, thousands of cancer patients need to commute to treatment, but some may not be able to. Recent U.S. fuel prices that have skyrocketed are worsening the situation. The Road to Recovery program provides cancer patients with transportation to and from treatment.

Class reunion
      The Lampasas High School Class of 1968 met at the Hancock Springs Hostess House during Spring Ho. There was much reminiscing, visiting and catching up. A disc jockey provided music, and Mexican food, finger foods and drinks were enjoyed.

      Classroom instruction for the next driver education program at Lampasas High School begins Sept. 9. Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Class is limited to the first 32 paid students. Pick up registration forms outside the high school main office.

      The Lampasas High School Class of 1946 will meet Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church parish hall for its annual reunion. All classes graduating in the 1940s or earlier are invited. Visitors who would like to have lunch with the class are invited to stop by at 11:30 a.m. and bring either chicken, sandwiches, a salad or dessert.
