CASA volunteers sought to assist local children

2008-08-22 / Lifestyles

Six new Court Appointed Special Advocates volunteers were sworn in by 33rd and 424th Judicial District Associate Judge Robert Hofmann and are ready to begin their work aiding children.

CASA of the Highland Lakes Area covers Blanco, Burnet, Lampasas, Llano and San Saba counties.

Volunteers are appointed by the court as guardian ad litem to advocate for children in the court system who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and/or neglect.

The need for CASA volunteers grows daily. More than 100 children still need volunteers to speak on their behalf.

For information on becoming a CASA volunteer, phone Diane Wells at (325) 423-0917.
