The Greens Kenneth and Billye Green of Lometa celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a cook-out for family and friends at Lake Buchanan on Aug 2.

The couple were married Aug. 1, 1948, in Houston, and honeymooned in New Braunfels at the Faust Hotel, still in operation today.

Friends came from as far away as Tallahassee, Fla., Abilene, Lubbock, Waco and Houston to join in the celebration.

The couple's children attended: Shelley Kennedy and Ethan of Andice; and Mike, Pat and Jamie of Austin.

Also at the celebration were Mr. Green's sisters, Martha and Wyvonne, and Mrs. Green's sister and her husband, Pat and Glen Mahaffey, and their families.

Congratulations were received from friends in Washington and Wisconsin.
