Cecile Meech Funeral services for Cecile Bacque' Meech, 87, of St. Martinville, La., were Aug. 5, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Henry Bordeaux officiating. Burial was at St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Mrs. Meech, the daughter of Henri and Anna Broussard Bacque', died Aug. 3 at a St. Martinville nursing home.
A native of Maurice, La., and a former resident of New Iberia, La., Mrs. Meech was a beautician and seamstress. She enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting.
Survivors include sons, John Meech and wife, Sally, of Catahoula, La., and Raymond Meech, of Somerville; a daughter, Suzanne Wheeler, and husband, George, of Lometa; grandchildren, Cezanne Jaeschke and Celette Salazar- Maldonado, both of Lampasas, Benjamin Ryan Meech of Keller, Adam Carl Meech of Spring and Zachary Paul Meech of Catahoula; and great-grandchildren, Michael Everette Youngberg, Christopher Matthew Youngberg, Anthony Joell Salazar and Zayne Noel Maldonado, all of Lampasas, and Patrick Holden Meech and Kendall Michelle Meech, of Keller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin R. Meech; brothers, Treville Bacque', Msgr. Albert Bacque', Frank Bacque' and Gus Bacque'; sisters, Viola Martin, Mable Bordeaux and Lillian Johnson; and her stepmother, Emily Broussard.
Pallbearers were Benjamin Meech, Adam Meech, Zachary Meech, Anthony Salazar, George Wheeler, Dr. John David Knapp and Ed Hebert.
