Retired Marine seeks info on local man

2008-08-05 / Lifestyles

A former Marine and current Leon County resident is seeking information about a Lampasas man.

Retired Lt. Col. Foster L. Thompson's plane was shot down in the Philippines in April 1945 during World War II, and while he was on the airstrip waiting for assistance, he was approached by three men.

One of those men -- Glenn Mitchell, an Army radio operator -- told Thompson he was from Lampasas.

Anyone with information on Mitchell is asked to contact Thompson at (903) 344-2496.
