Cattle Auction

The report from the July 30 sale at Lampasas Cattle Auction is as follows.

Cattle and calves: Estimated receipts 936, Compared to last week at 1,113 and 412 last year.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers $2-$3 higher; slaughter cows $3-$5 higher; slaughter bulls $3 higher.

Bulk supply medium and large frame 1-2, 300-800 lb. feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 13 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 1 percent, replacement cows 1 percent, and feeders 86 percent.

Feeder steers: medium and large frame 1, 200-300 lb., $127-$135; 300-400 lb., $117-$126; 400-500 lb., $103-$110; 500-600 lb., $103- $105; 600-700 lb., $102-$105; 700- 800 lb., $100-$106.

Medium and large frame 2, 400- 500 lb., $96.50-$105; 500-600 lb., $97-102; 600-700 lb., $91-$99.

Medium and large frame 3: 600- 700 lb., $85-$91.

Heifers: medium and large frame 1, 200-300 lb., $108-$117; 300-400 lb., $104-$110; 400-500 lb., $102- $105; 500-600 lb., $105-$110; 600- 700 lb., $100-$108.

Medium and large frame 2, 400- 500 lb., $92-$99; 500-600 lb., $91-$97.50; 600-700 lb., $90- $95.50; 700-800 lb., $94-$95.50.
