Tom Dahl Tom Dahl, Texas Department of Transportation area engineer for Lampasas, San Saba and Mills counties, recently earned certification as a Certified Floodplain Manager.

The certification, awarded by the Texas Floodplain Management Association -- which is nationally recognized and accredited through the Association of State Floodplain Managers -- signifies that Dahl possesses the theoretical knowledge and practical experience in floodplain management necessary to pass a comprehensive examination.

Dahl has served as area engineer since January 2001. His duties have included responsibility for transportation infrastructure projects crossing through floodplains. He also has coordinated such projects with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and with National Flood Insurance Program county and city floodplain administrators.
