Cemetery association elects officers, board member

2008-08-01 / Lifestyles

At the recent annual Oak Hill Cemetery Association meeting, a slate of officers was elected for two-year terms, and a board member was elected for a five-year term.

All those elected were incumbents, including Betty Ann Whitis, president.

Finance, membership and cemetery operations reports were presented and approved.

The association's by-laws were amended to clarify duties of the secretary and treasurer, and to substitute "donations" for "dues," so members won't be dropped from the roles for failure to contribute annually.

Several ways to contact potential members were discussed.

Anyone interested in the cemetery is invited to attend meetings to become a member, or send name and address to Oak Hill Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 1062, Lampasas.

In closing the meeting, Mrs. Whitis thanked those present, including city representatives, for their interest and hard work on behalf of Oak Hill.
