The Boys and Girls Club of Lampasas will play host to a Challenger Sports British soccer camp Aug. 4 through Aug. 8 at Gavin Garrett Soccer Complex.

"First Kicks" camp sessions for three- and fouryear olds will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for $56. A "Mini Soccer" camp is available to four- and five-year-old players from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $76.

Half-day camps for ages six to 16 cost $96. One camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and the other lasts from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Teams also are welcome to attend. The Challenger camps teach individual soccer skills and team tactics and feature daily scrimmage play in the Camp World Cup.

Coaches also direct lessons on respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, leadership and nutrition.

Camp World Cup also teaches players about the traditions of other countries. Campers are asked to create cheers, brings flags and dress up to learn about the countries they represent.

Each camper will receive a free camp T-shirt, soccer ball, player evaluation and end of camp gift.
