Ben L. Gonzales Jr. Funeral Mass for Ben L. Gonzales Jr., 74, of Lampasas is July 29, 2008, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Pedro Castillo officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Mr. Gonzales died July 25 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.

He was born Aug. 25, 1933, in Lampasas, the son of Bernabe S. and Basilia Lopez Gonzales.

Mr. Gonzales grew up in Lampasas and attended local schools. He worked at Fort Hood as a Civil Service employee for 23 years.

He was married to Ester Rios and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; three daughters, Christina Marez and husband, Alex, Bessie White and husband, Michael, and Geneva Karcher, all of Lampasas; two sisters, Adela Miller and husband, Steve, of Garland, and Mary Castro of Lampasas; a brother, Martin Gonzales, of Lampasas; three stepdaughters, Elaina Hernandez of Garland, and Christina Barrios and Cindy Martinez, both of San Antonio; three stepsons, Albert Rios and Ronald Rios, both of San Antonio, and Jay Rios, of Lampasas; four grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Leandro, Joe, Felipe and Ignacio, and by a sister, Maria.
