Cattle Auction
      The report from the July 23 sale at Lampasas Cattle Auction is as follows. Cattle and calves: Estimated receipts 1,113. Compared to last week at 1,193 and 412 last year. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers steady to firm; slaughter cows and bulls $1-$3 lower. No test on replacement cows. Trade and demand good.

Registration set Thursday for schools
      New student registration for those entering grades prekindergarten through eighthgrade is Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Lampasas Middle School cafeteria. All departments will be there to assist parents, including food service, nursing and transportation.
