Genealogy group plans meeting

2008-07-25 / Lifestyles

The digitization of records of genealogical and historic value is changing the face of how genealogists do research. As more and more records (such as maps, county histories, city directories, genealogical letters and photographs) become available, family historians need to learn the ins and outs of accessing this growing bonanza of material.

Bill Buckner, genealogy manager, will discuss digital records, collections and databases with a focus on the southern states during the Central Texas Genealogical Society's meeting Monday at the Waco-McLennan County Library, 1717 Austin Ave., Waco.

CTGS supports residents in their ancestral and historical searches. Future meetings will include a program about steamboating in Texas.
