LISD has few slots open for teachers; registration coming
Getting closer to the beginning of the 2008-09 school term, the Lampasas Independent School District has several professional positions still remaining to be filled.
At Lampasas High School, a chemistry/physics position with coaching responsibilities still needs to be filled, along with a social studies slot with coaching.
Lampasas Middle School still lacks a math teacher and coach as well as a special education or social studies teaching position.
Hanna Springs Intermediate School still seeks a third-grade teacher, and all positions at Kline Whitis are currently filled.

In other LISD news, two additional elementary school zoning forums are set to be held.
The first is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kempner City Hall.
A second forum was rescheduled to Aug. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Lampasas Middle School cafeteria.
The public is invited to attend. Questions from the audience are encouraged by LISD administrators and trustees.
Superintendent Dr. Brant Myers will moderate the forums. He will share several examples of zoning scenarios and hopes for public input.
The LISD's mission is to draw boundary lines so the new Taylor Creek Elementary School in the county's east side, as well as Kline Whitis and Hanna Springs, each will be filled to a capacity that will allow it to operate at the most efficient levels, Myers said.
