Local chapter to be honored at convention

The Lampasas FFA Chapter will be recognized Wednesday at the Texas FFA Convention in Lubbock as recipients of "Gold Emblem-Top 10" status in the National FFA Chapter Award Program.

Members and advisers will be involved in a variety of activities during the convention.

Members Reese Vann, Kelsi Ray, Sara Jackson and Brook Buttler earned the Lone Star FFA Degree and will be honored Tuesday at the Lone Star FFA Degree ceremony.

Chapter vice president and San Saba district FFA president Sara Jackson will serve as a courtesy corps member, and Jordan Cantrell will assist.

Area 7 FFA secretary and LHS chapter reporter Kelsi Ray will help coordinate the voting delegates for the Area 7 FFA Association.

Jeyde Kelly, Brandyl Brooks, Blaire Stoneham, Kirby Kennedy and James Lansford will serve as voting delegates along with Miss Jackson, and Miss Ray.

Advisers Dr. Steve Forsythe and Wes Harris will serve as registration committee members and assist in judging the speaking events competition.

Barbara Phillips is serving as chaperon.
