The Arbor Day Foundation is offering a new tree ID guidebook that is easier to use and will help the average person identify trees in a simple, step-by-step process.
"What Tree is That?" features full-color, hand-drawn illustrations of the distinctive characteristics of America's most popular trees. The book will assist users to make a positive species identification in a few easy steps.
The book explains what to look for to determine the species of a specific tree: shape of the leaves, difference in leaf stems and twig structures, fruits and flowers, and details of bud and bark and others.
