Burnet resident Mary Anne Cure, 88, died Dec. 26, 2007.

Funeral services were Dec. 28 at Burnet Presbyterian Church with burial at Burnet City Cemetery.

Mrs. Cure was born Nov. 7, 1919, at the Corder homestead in Burnet, the daughter of William Dotson and Rachel Inez Addison Corder.

She graduated from Burnet High School and attended Southwestern University at Georgetown, graduating from Mary Hardin-Baylor College at Belton.

She was married to Wayne O. Cure of Seymour for 49 years until his death in 1994.

Mrs. Cure was a lifelong member of Burnet Presbyterian Church and a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 425 of Burnet. She also was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority and supported many charitable organizations in the area, as well as Texas A&M University.

She is survived by sisters, Dorothy, and husband, Dr. A.A. Bishop, of Lampasas, and Catherine, and husband, Robert Harden, of Ashville, Ala.; a brother-in-law, Dr. M.K. Patteson Sr., of Lampasas; a stepbrother, Joe Morgan Wittenburg, and wife, Ruthie, of Lometa; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Cure was preceded in death by sisters, Rachel, and husband, Weldon L. Maples of Fort Worth, and Ruth Neal Patteson of Lampasas, and twin infant sisters.

The family requested memorials be made to W.D. Corder Scholarship Fund of Burnet High School or to the charity of one's choice.
