Ed Dimas Edward Raymond "Shorty" Dimas, 56, of Lampasas died Dec. 26, 2007, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.

Funeral Mass was Dec. 29 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lampasas with Father Pedro Castillo officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Mr. Dimas was born July 16, 1951, in Lampasas, the son of Lupe and Sally Veliz Dimas.

He attended and graduated from Lampasas High School.

Mr. Dimas married Teresa Crow on Sept. 27, 1986, in Lampasas.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially baseball.

Mr. Dimas also enjoyed woodworking, bullriding and being a "picture taker" for the Lampasas Dispatch Record. He was a current member of the Spring Ho Committee.

Mr. Dimas was a co-owner of A Step Up Day Care in Lampasas and was an electrical and HVAC estimator for Miller's Service Company.

He is survived by his wife of Lampasas; two sons, Patch Ray Dimas and Spinner T. Dimas, both of Lampasas; his parents of Lampasas; three sisters, Cecelia Jimenez, and husband, Monroe, of Temple, Patty Rios, and husband, Rey, of Lampasas, and Diane Hibbert, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Tom Dimas, and wife, Dana, of Hockley; his grandfather, Mike Medina, of Lampasas; and five godchildren of Lampasas.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Margarite Medina.
