Melton-Erwin
The Rev. Darren Walker, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Belton, performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Michael and Janet Melton of Kempner. She is the granddaughter of Elmer and Doris Hamm of Copperas Cove. The groom's parents are Doug and Karen Erwin of Comanche. Soloist Kara Kehoe of Lampasas performed "In This Very Room," as the parents and grandparents were seated. Organist James McClendon of Harker Heights played "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desire," during the processional, and "Bridal Chorus" during the bridal processional. Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" was played as the recessional, and "Halleluja Chorus" was played to celebrate the conclusion of the service. The church was decorated with white candles and arrangements of red roses. The altar rail featured an ivy garland tied with red nosegays. Prayer partners of the bride and groom lit altar rail candles prior to the service. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She chose a white strapless gown that featured ruching and a chapellength train. She wore a fingertip veil and rhinestone accents in her hair. The bride carried a bouquet of red roses. Matron of honor was Melody Alexander, sister of the bride, of Plano. Bridesmaids were Sara Dickison Byrd of Lometa; Katie Ehlers of Kingwood; Jennifer Erwin, sisterin law of the groom, of Granbury; Ashley Hamm of Lubbock; and Sara Young of Fort Worth. Attendants wore strapless black, cocktail-length dresses with a tucked waistline. They carried bouquets of red roses. Flower girl was Dylan Ehlers, goddaughter of the bride, of Kingwood. She wore a white floorlength princess dress with a tulle underskirt. She carried a basket of red rose petals. The groom's brother, Zack Erwin of Granbury, served as best man. Groomsmen were Joe Brhlik of Sherman; Wes Cooper of Fort Worth; Dustin Kinder of Abilene; Tony Newton of Gatesville; and Wesley Reinart of Hereford. Ushers were Jeff Alexander, brother-in-law of the bride, of Plano; Tyler Keeling of Amarillo; and Seth Soloman of College Station. Following the ceremony, a reception and dance were hosted by the bride's parents at the Hostess House in Lampasas. Red roses and red candles decorated the historic location. After a wedding trip to the Marriott Resort at Horseshoe Bay, the couple is at home in Lubbock. The bride earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering from Texas A&M University and a Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law. She is an associate attorney for Craig, Terrill, Hale & Grantham. The groom earned a bachelor of science degree in agricultural development from Texas A&M University. He is an account executive for KCBD News Channel 11. The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Hostess House prior to the ceremony. ![]() |
