Mr. Hodges John Mitchel Hodges, 88, of Lampasas died Dec. 20, 2007, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. Funeral services were Dec. 27 at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas. Mr. Hodges was born May 28, 1919, in Hutchinson County, the son of John Tilman and Minnie Belle Dotson Hodges. He married Liselotte Schick. Mr. Hodges served in the U.S. Army during World War II in both Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and was a land surveyor for many years. Survivors include three daughters, Lucia Ann Hodges, of Pflugerville, Christine Hodges and Les Herrington, of Liberty Hill, and Rebecca Turner and Tom, of New Castle, Wash.; two sons, John E. Hodges, of Austin, and Daniel Hodges, and wife, Dianna, of Lampasas; one sister, Inez Clark, of Georgetown; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2000; by four sisters, Ann Stanford, Sara Scott, Nora Green and Mary Martin; and by one brother, Cal Hodges.
