Deadline for primary filing nears

The deadline to file for a place on the March 4 party primary ballot is Jan. 2. Candidates for county-wide offices need to file with their county party chair.

A candidate has to pay a filing fee or submit a petition.

The first day to apply for a ballot by mail is Jan. 4. Voter registration ends Feb. 4, and early voting will run from Feb. 19 to Feb. 29.
