Foundation offers grants, stipends

The Texas Retired Teachers Foundation will give grants to public school teachers in Texas for the 2008-09 school year.

Teachers must download applications from the TRTF website at www.trtf.org. Completed applications should be sent to abaker@trtf.org or to 313 E. 12th St., Suite 250, Austin,TX 78701 by March 15.

Grants of up to $1,000 are available to any public school education teacher in Texas. Applicants may apply individually, as a group or team or as a school.

The TRTF will review all grant applications, and grantees will be announced April 16 during the Texas Retired Teachers Luncheon at the convention in El Paso.

The TRTF also is offering scholarships to students who are relatives of Texas retired teachers or school personnel who are pursuing education degrees at Texas universities.

Applications are available at the TRTF website and are due back by Feb. 1.
