Lake Travis JV bests LHS

The Lake Travis junior varsity boys' basketball team dominated the second and third quarters to register a 50-31 win against the Lampasas JV on Friday at Lake Travis.

The Cavaliers outscored the Badgers 22-6 in the second and third quarters combined and led 39-18 heading into the final frame. The Badgers (5-9) heated up in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Cavaliers 13-11.

"It took us awhile to get going, and we couldn't make up the ground," LHS JV coach Kyle Black said.

"The guys played hard and never quit fighting. I think when we play a full four quarters, we can not only compete but can beat any team in our district."

Astin Murray led the Badgers with nine points, and Anthony Salazar chipped in six.

The Badgers are scheduled to play at Pflugerville Connally on Friday.
