Mr. Corder Samuel C. Corder, 90, died Dec. 13, 2007. A graveside service with military honors was Dec. 17 at Killeen Memorial Park. Mr. Corder was born Aug. 22, 1917, in Carrollton, Miss., to Edna Barbara Emmons and Sammie Corder. He married Vera Clark on May 11, 1940. Mr. Corder was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II and the Korean War. He was on active duty and retired in 1966 after 20 years of service. He then worked 12 years for Civil Service. He moved from Killeen to Houston in 1999, and then to Vista Continuing Care in Pasadena in April 2007. Mr. Corder enjoyed gardening. Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Corder Irving, and husband, Doug; grandchildren, Lee Todd Gotcher, of Houston, Nikki DeVallier, of League City, and Kristin Irving Libby, of Pasadena; great-grandchildren, Amber Pruett and Dustin Pruett, of Heber Springs, Ark., Zach DeVallier and Spencer Libby; several nephews; and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera; and by a daughter, Barbara Lynn Corder. Arrangements by Harper- Talasek Funeral Home of Killeen. | |||||
