Ila Dixon
Funeral services for Ila Bertie Dixon, 93, of Lampasas were Dec. 16, 2007, at Sneed Funeral Chapel with Ministers Jim Shelburn and Elvis Fisher officiating. Burial was at Kempner City Cemetery.

Mrs. Dixon died Dec. 12 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.

She was born Feb. 15, 1914, in Lampasas County, the daughter of Dexter and Minnie Rhoades Smith.

She married Henry Marshall Dixon on Nov. 21, 1933, in Mahomet.

Mrs. Dixon was a school bus driver for many years, retiring in 1976.

She was a member of Broad Street Church of Christ in Lampasas and volunteered at local nursing homes after her retirement.

She is survived by three daughters, Sue Broom, and Rob, of Rumley, Shirley Shelburn, and Jim, of San Antonio, and Maree Cheatham, and Robert, of California; a sister, Geneva Henderson, of Georgetown; two grandsons; four granddaughters; four great-grandsons; eight great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by three brothers, Oran Smith, Otis Smith and Clyde Smith; by a sister, Ora Pehl; and by a grandson, Mark Broom.

The family requested memorials be made to Broad Street Church of Christ, 506 N. Broad St., Lampasas, Tx 76550.
