AMVETS slates blood drive

AMVETS Post 80 of Lampasas will hold its first Red Cross Community Blood Drive of 2008 on Jan. 7 from 12:30-6:30 p.m. at its post home.

Residents are encouraged to make their New Year's resolution to give blood, said Wanda Meyers, drive coordinator.

"With every pint of blood, three lives are saved," she said.

Donors must be in good health, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be at least 17 years of age.
