Lady Badgers advance to title game of Llano Tourney
Llano Tournament
      After cruising past four opponents on Thursday and Friday, the Lampasas girls' basketball team pushed tournament-host Llano to the buzzer of the title game on Saturday. The Lady Badgers (6-10) outscored Llano 31-18 in the second half but fell just short in a 44- 43 loss.

A hunting trip's success not determined by kill
      A hunter does not have to bag an animal to have a successful hunt. That was the case last week, as my son, Matthew, and I returned from a deer hunt on the Walter Buck Wildlife Management Area. We previously had been drawn for the public hunt conducted by Texas Parks and Wildlife.
