Local youths capture awards at swine show
Many Lampasas 4-H and FFA members were successful in the show, which featured champion buckles and prize money. Slayton Strube of Texas A&M University judged the day-long event. Michael Fisher took the runnerup senior swine showmanship award. Emily Parson, a Lampasas junior FFA member, won grand champion black OPB breed. Reserve championship went to Makayla Martin with her Yorkshire breed. First-place awards went to Jared Nuckles with his lightweight Hampshire; Kleg Kennedy, mediumweight black OPB breed; Taylor Loeffler, lightweight-cross breed; Breighton Loeffler, heavyweight black OPB.
