A show choir and vocal jazz performer currently attending Temple College proved the top performer in Saturday's 2007 Texas Farm Bureau Talent Find Contest at the 74th annual state convention of the state's largest farm organization.
Rachel Wolfe, 20, a sophomore at Temple College and daughter of Lewis and Reba Wolfe of Kempner, wowed audiences with her vocal rendition of "Defying Gravity," from the musical, "Wicked."
Representing Lampasas County Farm Bureau, Miss Wolfe topped 12 other performers competing at the statewide contest and claimed the grand prize $2,000 scholarship.
Miss Wolfe participates in show choir, vocal jazz and community theater while attending Temple College, but she plans to transfer to the University of Texas at Austin and double major in vocal performance and theater.
With that degree, she hopes to write musicals, own her own theater and eventually lead a theaterbased ministry program.
