Alton Canales

Funeral services for Alton Gean Canales, 75, of Lampasas were Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Pastors Mark Barnard and Reid Schaub officiating.

Mr. Canales died Dec. 3 at the Temple Veterans Administration Hospital.

He was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Lampasas, the son of Antonio and Sadie Canales.

Mr. Canales married Billie Yeary on July 8, 1960.

He was a brick mason and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; one son, Aldo Canales, and wife, Donna, of Utah; a daughter, Mary Canales, of Lewisville; a brother, Ramon Canales, and wife, Bertie, of Lampasas; grandchildren, Ryan Canales, Chelsey Canales and Lindsey Lavrey; sisters in-law, Wanda Canales and Helen McDaniel, both of Lampasas; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Canales was preceded in death by his brothers, Louis, Leon and Clifford, and by a sister, Mildred Klose.
