Consider joining the Boy Scouts

Open letter to the boys of Lampasas:

My name is Alex McCatherine, and I am a Boy Scout. I would like to invite any boy who has finished the fifth grade to join the Boy Scouts of America. I have been in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for a long time, and I have learned many things that are necessary skills in life. I have learned to tie knots, how to make a fire and basic, important survival skills.

As a Boy Scout, you don't just pick up useful skills, you gain friends and have a really good time at the meetings and campouts. I also have learned a lot about my community, my nation and the world I live in. The things that are taught in Scouting are very helpful when trying to make important decisions. You learn many things about how to live as a good citizen and the importance of working together.
