Consider joining the Boy Scouts Open letter to the boys of Lampasas: My name is Alex McCatherine, and I am a Boy Scout. I would like to invite any boy who has finished the fifth grade to join the Boy Scouts of America. I have been in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for a long time, and I have learned many things that are necessary skills in life. I have learned to tie knots, how to make a fire and basic, important survival skills. As a Boy Scout, you don't just pick up useful skills, you gain friends and have a really good time at the meetings and campouts. I also have learned a lot about my community, my nation and the world I live in. The things that are taught in Scouting are very helpful when trying to make important decisions. You learn many things about how to live as a good citizen and the importance of working together. If any of this sounds like something you would be interested in and you would like to check into joining the Boy Scouts, you can contact Troop 100 by calling First United Methodist Church or Troop 200 at First Baptist Church. I and all the other Boy Scouts in these troops look forward to seeing you at a meeting and showing you what adventures you are missing! Alex McCatherine |
