Willing to help a stranger in need

It's always nice to know there are still people in this world willing to help when there is a family in need.

As we were traveling from Stephenville to Austin the day before Thanksgiving, we stopped at the Lampasas Sonic for lunch. What a drag it is when you get ready to leave and your truck does not start.

After a few minutes of fussing and discussing with my husband, I asked the man next to us if we could "borrow" his battery for a few minutes. That didn't work. By then, the local Sonic manager came out. Thank goodness for bigger trucks! After a few minutes we were able to get it started.

We made our way to the local Auto Zone, where we met Duwayne Hall. We told him of our dilemma, and he was more than happy to not only sell us a new battery but also put it in. It is always inconvenient for these things to happen in a town you are not familiar with, and where you do not know anyone.

Thank you, Mr. Sonic manager and Mr. Auto Zone, and to the several people I spoke with on the phone who were willing to give me the name of the next person that would be able to help.
