Brownwood 49, Lampasas 48
      The Lampasas High School girls' basketball team fell just short Tuesday night in a back-and-forth struggle at Brownwood. Brownwood used a 17-13 second quarter advantage to sneak away with a 49-48 win. "I felt the girls played with a lot of heart and effort," LHS head coach Mitzi Lancaster said.

      The Boys and Girls Club of Lampasas has scheduled basketball registrations from now through today and has scheduled its draft and coaches training for Saturday. Anyone interested in participating can stop by the Boys and Girls Club office from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

      The Lampasas High School freshman girls' basketball team kept on sizzling Tuesday night, hammering Brownwood, 48-30, to improve its season record to 9-0. The Lady Badgers led 20-10 at the half and put the game away in the third quarter, outscoring Brownwood 19-9 in the frame.

      Scott and Rusty McLean won the Colorado River CattleWomen's seventh annual Moo-nlight Madness golf tournament. The money raised is used for scholarships to students who study in an agricultural field. The organization has given $9,000 in scholarships in the past three years.
