Youths take part in Area FFA meet

Lometa and Lampasas FFA students participated in the recent Area 7 Leadership Development Event held in Seguin.
Competition was tough, and Lometa freshman Cassidy Wienecke took the highest honors, placing second in Junior Creed Speaking. She bannered and qualified for state LDE this weekend at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.
In other Lometa results, the Junior Creed Speaking Team placed ninth. Team members include Colt Maldonado, Mac Pauly, James Reyna, Dalton Parsons, Sam Holley and Lucas Kemp.
The Lometa Ag Issues Team also ended with a ninth-place finish. The team consists of Jessica Brooks, James Logsdon, Josh Logsdon and Skyler Sims.
Lometa and Lampasas schools were the only schools from the San Saba District that placed high enough to banner.
