Adamsville group still selling calendars, cookbooks

The recent meeting of the Adamsville Heritage Association was filled with news and decisions.

The organization is promoting the 100-year anniversary of the township of Adamsville. Events will take place Jan. 19 at the Adamsville Community Center.

The celebration is being organized by Terri Cox and Wanda Lang, and details, announcements and invitations will be available soon.

Cookbooks and calendars continue to be on sale. To consign items, contact Betty Rials at 768- 3307; Patty Pearson or Ronny Hamilton, 768-9950; or Mrs. Lang, 556-6469. Each item is $20. Shipping is available outside of the county. Credit card purchases can be made at www.mymommassoap.com, and click on "Texas gifts." Local shipping costs will be refunded at the time of pick up.

Volunteers are still needed to sell calendars and books to meet the Dec. 15 and Dec. 27 deadlines, respectively.

Funds raised will go into the coffers of the Adamsville Heritage Association to beautify the community.

An ancestral storybook is nearing completion. Anyone wishing to have their story mentioned should contact Janice Hartley at 768-3800 or write to patricknjanice@sbcglobal.net.
