CTC lists non-credit December courses

The Central Texas College Continuing Education Department announces an array of class offerings in December. Classes include jewelry making, art, dance and exercise. Registration is under way for the following classes.

Internet and E-mail: Explore the Internet and learn how to select an Internet provider, use web browsers, create an e-mail account, use search engines, chat with friends, do Instant Messaging and download files. Students also will become familiar with Internet security and antivirus programs. Class meets Dec. 1, 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $41.

Jewelry Making With Clay: Make pieces of jewelry by using art clay products that are .999 fine silver. Students will get hands-on experience making a set of earrings or a pendant, creating and using molds and soldering with a gas torch. Class meets Dec. 1, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $17 plus the cost of materials.

Fused Glass Art: Discover how to cut glass using glass and mosaic cutters as you learn to make Christmas ornaments. Class meets Dec. 1, 10 a.m. to noon. Cost is $16 plus the cost of materials.

Salsa: Learn how to feel the rhythm and beat while getting the basics of this favorite Latin dance. Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, Dec. 4- 13, 7-9 p.m. Cost is $31.

Volunteers Make the Difference: Discover how to recruit, interview, train, evaluate and reward volunteers for a more successful relationship with your organization. Class topics include the application, the job description and rewards of working well with volunteers. Class will meet Saturdays, Dec. 1- 15, 9 - 11:40 a.m. Cost is $41 plus $15 for the workbook.

Jazzercise: This blend of jazz dance and exercise science is perfect for any fitness level. Easyto follow fun choreography, a one-hour aerobic workout helps tone and strengthen muscles. Class meets Mondays and Wednesdays, Dec. 3- 26, 5:25- 6:25 p.m. There is also a class each Tuesday and Thursday, Dec. 4- 27, 5:25- 6:25 p.m. Cost for either class is $26.
