Leverett honored for academics Former Lampasas High School football player Kristen Leverett was named on Tuesday to the American Southwest Conference All-Academic Team for his work on the football field and in the classroom at the University of Mary Hardin- Baylor. To be eligible for the team, student athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior, earn a letter and maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point-average. Leverett, who has recorded 28 tackles and 1.5 sacks, has helped guide the Cru to a 10-1 record and an ASC championship. UMHB, which eliminated Trinity University from the NCAA Division II playoffs last week, will play host to North Carolina Wesleyan in a second round game Saturday at noon at Tiger Field in Belton. |
