Gingerbread House Contest set for Dec. 7

"Nutcrackers on Parade" is the theme for this year's Gingerbread House Contest at Keystone Square Museum.

Gingerbread houses will be on view at the museum during the Carol of Lights celebration through Dec. 19.

Participants may use any or all of Tchaikovsky's famous ballet, "The Nutcracker Suite" to create their houses, from sugar-plum fairies to the Waltz of the Flowers or anything else related to the ballet. Participants also may design a house based simply on the general theme of nutcrackers.

Houses can be entered by groups or individuals for prizes in the following categories.

• Adult/family, first-, secondand third-place prizes.

• Ages 14-18, first-, secondand third-place prizes.

• Ages 8-13, first-, second- and third-place prizes.

• Ages 4-7, first-, second- and third-place prizes.

• Best use of theme, grand champion, adult/family, and child divisions.

Houses may be entered Dec. 6 from 4-6 p.m. for judging that evening. Houses may be picked up Dec. 19 from 4-8 p.m. For information, phone 556-2224.
