Republicans name Volunteers of Year
Bell, Burnet county winners are selected

The Republican Party of Texas named James E. "Jim" Carter of Bell County and Patty Luedecke of Burnet County as winners of Volunteer of the Year Awards for Senate District 24 at a recent recognition ceremony in Austin.

RPT honors volunteers from each senatorial district at the event, which is held in off-election years. Recipients are individuals who have helped accomplish important Republican victories over the last two years.

During the ceremony, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst gave the keynote address. Attorney General Greg Abbott, Railroad Commissioner Elizabeth Ames Jones, Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson and Railroad Commission Chairman Michael Williams participated in the program.

Comptroller of Public Accounts Susan Combs and Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples helped sponsor the event, but were unable to attend.
