Annual Christmas Cantata performance set for Dec. 9

The Lampasas Community Christmas Cantata is Dec. 9 at 5 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.

The annual event features the cantata choir, a group of singers from churches in Lampasas, Kempner, Copperas Cove and other areas.

Under the direction of First United Methodist's music director, the choir will present "Season of Wonders," by Joseph M. Martin. The cantata consists of familiar carols and narration. The audience is invited to join in singing Christmas carols.

The Joy Ringers, the church's adult hand-bell choir, will present special selections.

A reception, "A Taste of Christmas," will immediately follow the cantata in the Wesley Fellowship Hall. A nursery will be provided.

The event is sponsored by the church and Lampasas Association For the Arts.
