Welcome home treat
Members of Fort Hood's 2-82 Field Artillery, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division received a big welcome home and thanks from Lampasans upon their return from overseas duty. Nearly 200 goodie bags were prepared for single soldiers that contained a bath towel, toiletries, candy, snacks, cookies, a Texas map and other items. Financial assistance came from the Lampasas Lions Club, American Legion Post 277 and its Auxiliary Unit, Presbyterian Women, Hodges & Sargent Pharmacy, Jamie and Dorothy Briggs, Bob and Carol Wright, District 54 State Rep. Jimmie Don Aycock, local Girl Scouts, Kenneth Pruett and the Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce. Spending nearly a full day stuffing bags were volunteers, from left, Martha Green from the American Legion Auxiliary, Myra Wright,Carol Wright and Lori Brooks.
