Lampasas resident Ted S. Greathouse, 88, died Nov. 16, 2007, at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple.
Funeral services are Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Greathouse was born Jan. 24, 1919, in Robstown to Lawrence Allen and Maude Emma Coleman Greathouse.
He went to work for the Campbell family at the age of 16 and worked on the ranches up until his death.
Mr. Greathouse was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II where he served as a medic. He was with Gen. George S. Patton's troops when the U.S. entered Sicily, Italy. He was awarded three Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.
Mr. Greathouse's hobbies included repairing radios, going to garage sales and pawn shops.
He is survived by two nephews, Robert Bailey, and wife, Paula, of Burnet, and Kenneth Bailey, of Alabama; and a number of cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy E. Bailey.
The family requested memorials be made to Broad Street Church of Christ, 506 N. Broad St., Lampasas.
