Cove man to be arraigned for murder

During recent action in Judge Joe Carroll's 27th District Court, a formal arraignment was set for Dec. 7 for Donald Dean Gower, 39, of Copperas Cove for capital murder.

Gower is charged in the July shooting death of his wife, 31-yearold Hidi Gower.

He was arrested July 10 in Manhattan, Kan., and extradited from Riley County Jail in Kansas to Lampasas. He has pleaded not guilty and remains in the county jail.

Mrs. Gower, a Copperas Cove resident murdered at the Kempner VFW in east Lampasas County, was the victim of a murder-for-hire plot instigated by her husband, according to law officials.

In other court action, Kempner resident Leroy Williamson, 53, was sentenced to 15 years in the Texas Department of Corrections Institutional Division for driving while intoxicated and felony repetition.

A seven-year state jail sentence was handed down to Brenda Salazar, 39, for delivery of a controlled substance in a correctional facility. She was credited with jail time served.

Andrew Lewis Perrin, 43, was given five years in the TDC for driving while intoxicated and felony repetition with credit for jail time served.

Edward Lloyd Patterson, 25, of Brownwood was given an 18- month state jail sentence for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He was credited with jail time served.

Copperas Cove resident Jayne Caroline Boyle, 41, was assessed a two-year prison term probated to five years for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger.

An 18-month state jail sentence was probated to three years in a case of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine against Isreal Arocha, 36, of Brownwood.

Zachary Bothof, 23, of Lampasas is set for arraignment today for misapplication of trust funds (property code).

Erika Charles, 28, of Killeen is to appear in court today for a pretrial hearing for forgery.

On a charge of burglary of a building, Cory W. Keen, 26, faces an adjudication announcement Wednesday.

April Dawn Mack, 27, has an adjudication announcement set for Dec. 7. She is charged with debit card abuse.

Dec. 7 pretrial hearings are set for Benny Ray Manning, 45, for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; and for Wesley Ray Nichols, 19, for indecency with a child, sexual contact.

Lesia Sue Luttrell-Cain, 38, of Liberty, Ky., is to enter a plea on Dec. 21 for delivery of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone. A presentence investigation was ordered.

Also to enter a plea on Dec. 21 is Deanne Locke, 42, of Nolanville for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. A presentence investigation was ordered.

A punishment hearing is on the Dec. 21 docket for Sandra Gayle Forshee, 40. The Copperas Cove resident is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Ty Justin West, 27, is set for an adjudication announcement on Jan. 4 for hindering a secured creditor.

A Jan. 4 pretrial is on the docket for Rocky Dale Rhodes, 55, of Bruceville for theft over $1,500 and under $20,000.

Lometa resident Lucila Garcia, 45, was given four years' deferred adjudication probation and a $500 fine for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Tania Peche, 20, of Dallas received three years' deferred adjudication probation and a $500 fine for possession of a controlled substance, cocaine. She also must pay restitution.

A Feb. 11 jury trial is set for Terry Jack Ayers, 50, of Holiday. He is charged with intoxication assault.
