Swine validation to be held Monday

Lampasas High School FFA/4-H major entry night for the district FFA swine show through the Houston livestock show will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the high school library.

Entries need to be processed for the San Saba District FFA Swine Show, to be held Dec. 1, and for stock shows in Kerrville, Fort Worth, San Angelo, Houston, San Antonio and Austin.

Diana Jackson, a notary, will be present to process the Houston show entries. Parents should bring funds and all necessary information, such as Social Security numbers, in order to facilitate entries.

All entries need to be processed Monday to allow time for verification and entries by the Dec. 1 deadline for all major shows.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to doublecheck all stock show sites for information on various fees and class numbers for each show. LHS agriscience teachers Dr. Steve Forsythe and Wes Harris will be on hand along with Jason Byrd, Lampasas County's Texas Cooperative Extension agent.

In addition, Lampasas County state swine validation will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Lampasas County Show Barn. All exhibitors for major swine shows in 2008 must complete the state swine validation process.
