Two taken to hospital after accident

PHOTO BY DAVID LOWE A northbound 1998 Dodge Ram and the travel trailer it was pulling ran off U.S. Highway 281 Thursday near Grace Fellowship Church. The truck and the trailer flipped, and the driver and passenger were transported to Rollins Brook Community Hospital for evaluation.
Two people were transported to Rollins Brook Community Hospital Thursday about noon after a one-vehicle rollover south of Lampasas on U.S. Highway 281.

A 1998 Dodge Ram was traveling north on the highway when the travel trailer it was pulling began to weave off the road, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Monte Carroll said.

The driver overcorrected to the left then to the right, causing the trailer to weave even worse, Carroll said. The pickup ran off the roadway and flipped, coming to rest on its roof. The trailer flipped onto its right side.

Capital Ambulance transported the driver and one passenger to Rollins Brook, where they were being evaluated Thursday afternoon.

Carroll did not immediately release the names of the driver or passenger.
