Lampasas FFA and 4-H youth showed well at the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo held in Waco.
Kelsi Ray placed third with her show steer, and Samantha Phillips took sixth.
Eighteen pigs were exhibited at the swine show and jackpot competition.
Lampasas FFA and 4-H'ers Breighton Loeffler, Taylor Loeffler, Kirby Kennedy, Kleg Kennedy, Hunter Bussell, Nolan Ramon and Bryce Ramon exhibited 18 hogs. They were joined by Judy Kennedy, Lee and Tina Loeffler, Mitch and Laura Ramon, Casey Bussell, Mike Hail and Dr. Steve Forsythe, FFA adviser.
Kirby Kennedy took the reserve championship of the Junior Swine Show with her Yorkshire breed pig. She received a $1,000 scholarship from HOT Fair and Rodeo.
Kleg Kennedy was reserve champion with his cross-bred pig in the jackpot show. He also garnered third- and fifth-place wins.
Breighton Loeffler placed first with his lightweight OBP pig, and Taylor Loeffler was fourth.
Nolan Ramon's Hampshire breeding hog was seventh, and Bryce Ramon was sixth in the same division, and took eighth with his Duroc.
Hunter Bussell finished in seventh place with his Duroc hog.
Several exhibitors also gathered second and third places in various categories of breed in both the Junior Swine Show and Junior Jackpot Show.
