Runners finish 11th at region

Lometa cross country runners finished their season on a high note, sending all the Lady Hornets to the regional meet.

The girls placed 11th out of 23 teams, and almost every girl improved her time.

Nayla Rosales was the top finisher for Lometa, coming in at 13:57 for 45th place out of 161 runners.

Taylor Bradley was nipping at her teammate's heels, at 13:58 for a 46th-place finish.

Maria Jasso recorded a time of 14:26 for 69th; Elisha Whisenhunt, 14:41 for 77th place; Maribel Reyes, 15:14 for 99th place; Patricia Viera, 15:29 for a 106thplace finish; and Jeanette Rosales, 15:44 finishing at 116th.

"It was a good finish to a great season," said Coach Brandy Eckermann. "Everyone will be returning next year with the exception of Taylor Bradley. She has been a great asset to the team and we will really miss her hard work and dedication next year.
