Church has successful fund-raiser

Lometa United Methodist Church held its annual Awesome Autumn Stew event on the opening day of deer season, and the church's United Methodist Women report the event raised funds to benefit their local and international mission projects as well as the church.

The menu included beef stew, sooner stew, chicken tortilla soup, cornbread, chips and a selection of desserts.

They also sold a variety of crafts and baked goods.

Hunters from all over, including Lampasas, Austin, Temple, Dallas and Houston attended to support the church and its missions.
