Museum plans Veterans Day exhibit
      In honor of Veterans Day, Keystone Square Museum has organized a special display of objects and photographs from its collection relating to World War II. Objects on view include a 48-star flag, a WWII Army Air Corps cadet uniform, and photographs of WWII soldiers on the Pacific Coast.

Blood drive coordinator acknowledges donors
      Due to a crisis with the Red Cross, the organization sent just five personnel for Monday's Community Blood drive, sponsored by AMVETS Post 80. Wanda Meyers, blood drive coordinator, said generally 10 to 15 personnel are on hand for each drive.

Driver's ed registering
      Classroom instruction for the next driver education program at Lampasas High School begins Tuesday. Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 3:45-5:45 p.m. and are limited to the first 32 paid students. Pick up registration forms outside the main office.

      Colorado River CattleWomen supported the soldiers by sending five boxes of beef jerky to Iraq. Local resident Jessica Wilkinson's, husband, Dan, is serving in Iraq. CattleWomen sent Wilkinson's unit a supply of jerky to show their gratitude for their service.

      The Jim Wells County Fair Association Board of Directors is dedicating the 2007 fair to Sue (Suellen Fretwell) Samuels, a former Lampasas resident. Mrs. Samuels graduated from Lampasas High School in 1956, and moved to Oklahoma City to attend school for Western Union. She moved to Alice in 1957.
