Mrs. Smith

Helen Smith
Mary Helen Elizabeth Smith of Lampasas died Nov. 5, 2007, at Spring Oaks Terrace Nursing & Rehab. She was 95.

Funeral services were Nov. 8 at First Street Church of Christ with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born June 28, 1912, in Borden County, to Leroy L. and Luna Eubanks Jones.

She married Rual Camp Smith on Dec. 20, 1932, in Burnet County. They resided in Burnet County from 1932 to 1955.

Mrs. Smith was active in her church at Briggs and Redbud Community activities. She also belonged to the Home Demonstration Club, PTA and was a 4-H sponsor.

The Smiths moved to Lampasas in August 1955, and Mrs. Smith worked for E.B. Mott Variety Store. She was a member of First Street Church of Christ in Lampasas.

Survivors include a son, Buster Smith, and wife, Fay, of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter, Gypsy Doggett, and husband, Dean, of Lampasas; two sisters, Pearl (Maggy) Elam, of Granbury, and Roxie Rutledge, of Milam, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jeffery Hillis and husband, Bruce, of Farmers Branch, and Larry Smith and John Smith, both of Ponder; and a great-grandson, Nathan Hillis.

The family requested memorials be made to First Street Church of Christ Library Fund or Hims of Praise Men's Choir.
