Badgers finish 20th at Region IV-4A XC meet
Lometa girls finish 11th in Class 1A

The Lampasas boys' cross country team finished 20th in the team standings Saturday at the Region IV-4A Cross Country Meet at the University of Texas-San Antonio.
The Badgers, who placed second in the District 25-4A Meet two weeks ago, were paced by senior Andrew Griffin's 74th-place finish in 18:22.
Griffin has battled injuries all season but saved his best time of the year for his final cross country race as a Badger.
Lockhart won the team title behind the first-place running of Rory Tunningly, who had a time of 15:27. Despite a third-place finish from Zach Ornelas, District 25-4A champion Cedar Park Vista Ridge finished eighth in the team standings.
Burnet, which finished behind Lampasas at the district meet, took 14th on Saturday.
LHS sophomore Brandon Willie crossed the finish line in 18:48 to place 92nd, and David Bloomfield finished right behind him with the same official time.
Freshman Jonathan Lohmann placed 126th in 19:41.
Junior Todd Young, who missed workouts last week because of a calf injury, gutted it out through the pain to complete the race in 19:55 to finish 138th.
Sophomore Michael Fisher rounded out the LHS field, finishing 150th in 20:29.
In the Region IV-1A girls' meet, Lometa finished 11th in the team standings. Thorndale won the girls' title.
For Lometa, Nayla Rosales and Taylor Bradley finished 40th and 41st, respectively. Rosales completed the two-mile course in 13:37, and Bradley in 13:38.
Lady Hornet Maria Jason was 56th with her time of 14:26. Elisha Whisenhunt crossed the line 63rd in 14:41.
Maribel Reyes was 82nd at 15:14, Patricia Viera finished 88th in 15:25, and Jeanette Rosales took 98th place in 15:44.
